I haven't watched "GH" in years but, I was going to watch something on Soapnet yesterday and about 10 minutes were left on a recent episode so, I watch it. Anyway, Why did Emily and Nicholas break up? There was this huge montage of them and it looked like they were really in love.

I'm a HUGE GH fan, am currently a little bit behind but watch it regularly. I hope I'm not spoiling anything for you but Emily is dead. To make a long story short, she was killed about 6mos or so ago, Nikolas has a brain tumor and could still "see" her because of the tumor. He didn't want to get rid of the tumor because it made him be able to see her. He finally decided to have surgery to remove the tumor and the montage you saw was Emily & Nikolas' last scenes together, him saying good-bye to her. SOB!!!
